In this multimedia project, I submit myself to controlled pain through violent acts of self-flagellation to realize “female empowerment” while mirroring historical accounts of female oppression and socially taboo scenarios.
The performances and resulting images transmute internalized shame and hatred of the female body into a bold command of its strength and its power to endure.

I created this piece for my first solo show, "fuck me like you mean it", where I explore the complex experience of present-day womanhood through performance video, self-portrait photography, and sculpture. Using deconstructed symbolism—including real gold and my own blood— discordant sexual dreamscapes arise from a deliberately confusing space of simultaneous objectification and self-actualization. The piece could not have been made without the incredibly generous assistance of my amazing crew.
